North and South

North and South was a pre social media experiment by me.
I wanted to see if i could get more exposure for New Zealand Artists
by creating a web gallery with an English arts foundation, now defunct,
called Open Spaces Open Places, using a flash based web page.
I got one and a half million hits in 6 months and considered that a
success as Christchurch galleries would never get that volume of visitors,
considering our population was four hundred thousand, sadly less
now after the quakes.

I particularly like The Sad Song by Fred Viola.
I have put the site up again for PBRF review, the government of NZ
review of research web site, designed to make us less creative and be able to
compete with research into cow udders and other things.
